What is EquiConsulting?

Sarah Skillin has been a Business Development, Sales, Marketing & Customer Experience professional for the past 10 years and has amassed a wealth of experience, knowledge and skill from time spent working with corporate clients in the City of London.

Having worked with the top 3 global technology giants, Sarah has had the privilege of working with a number of household names from work within the construction, travel, retail, online gaming, utilities and consumer goods industries.  However, it is the passion for the equestrian world and the drive and determination to see the sport reach new levels, that lead Sarah to step out of the bright city lights and into her own consultancy to work with brands, events and riders that want to employ big business principles and tactics in the niche equestrian industry.

Being from an equestrian family Sarah began riding as soon as she could walk and spent her early years enjoying Pony Club and unaffiliated competition.  Her late father turned his hand to Cross Country course building, whilst her mother assisted in running a local hunter trial.  From then on Sarah’s love was focused on Eventing.

Our Mission

Sarah’s father passed away when she was younger and from that point her mother, Julie Skillin, devoted her spare time to supporting the eventing world by learning to be a cross country commentator and controller.  The rest there is history with Julie now being a keen member and leader amongst the British Eventing team.

Sarah became involved in Little Downham Horse Trials in 2012, with the event being given 3 events and it’s first international class, in that very special Olympic year.  The passion and the drive shone through and the team at Ely Eventing have never looked back, with other local venues soon enquiring as to her services.

The vision that Sarah brings is that of the Customer Experience angle, working with brands, riders, national bodies and events to focus on the aspects of events, marketing, sales and PR that create the sum of all interactions that a customer has with a ‘brand’ – it is the small tweaks, changes, initiatives and innovation in these interactions, that becomes the secret to success.
